GENERAL SMUTS' SUCCESSES
AX ADVANCE IX BELGIAN CONGO. London, June 15. Official: General Smuts' ' northern column lias reached Mn'kuyuni and occupied Wilhelmstal. It is reported that Tanga is clear of the enemy. Havre, June 15. A Belgian communique states that' General Tambeuv is continuing his pursuit and lias reached three points on the high road between Lakes Victoria Nvanza and Tanganyika. The right column occupied l Usuombura, at the head of Tanganyika, on June 8, and is marching towards Kitega, in the neighborhood of which the G'ermans are concentrated.

A Johannesburg telegram says that a German woman who went mad, owing to the loss of her husbaid' and brother, is now leading hands oi marauding Astern, a warlike tribe -n East Africa. Owing to her elusive tactics she is called "the female De Wet." The Germans liave promised the islceris that they will liand over to them all the white women in British East Africa.
