A correspondent in Paris says the magnitude of the Russian victories and the prospective Italian counter-offensive indicate clearly that continued French resistance at Verdun is the key to the Allied arch of victory. 'lf the Germans intend to achieve even a moral success at Verdun they must reach the objective shortly, otherwise they must admit defeat.
