COURSING.
TARANAKI MAIDEN STAKES. Some excellent coursing was witnessed when the final of the Maiden Stakes was decided. Both the hares and the dogs were in good form, and seme great runs were witnessed, pussy only on one occasion failing to reach cover. The attendance was again good. The arrangements made by the various officials left nothing to be desired. Results: SECOND ROUND.' . Phosphorus 3J beat Goldie nil. THIRD ROUND. Black Pirate 2, beat Pirate King nil.
