WAITARA.
(Prom Ou( Own Correspondent.) Waitara, June 15. The s.s. Waimate completed her loading in the roadstead, and sailed for Wanganui yesterday morning. Her shipment was completed in 17 lighters, and consisted of 2042 carcases mutton, 493S mleases lamb, 4360 quarters beef, 2181 p:ifkages frozen sundries, 473 bales wool, 240 casks tallow, 129 sacks hides, ?.4 casks pelts, and 3 bales hair. The
s.s. Wlmkanm arrived here this morning from Ulnfl'. A Union Jack, beautifully worked in silk, has been given to the local Patriotic Committee by Mrs. Golopp, and is to be disposed of as the committee thinks fit, the proceeds to go to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. Several townsmen who have already seen the flag are determined to give it keen competition, i?ot only for its beauty and the greet amount of work put into it, but for the circumstances under which it was made.
