MESOPOTAMIA.
WORK OF THE COSSACKS. OFFICERS DECORATED. Times.and Sydney Sun Services. London, June 13. Mr. Edmund Chandler reports that General Lake, at the King's order, invited the Cossack officers who made the adventurous ride through Mesopotamia, to Basra and decorated them with Military Crosses. The Cossacks traversed passes 8000 feet high, infested by hostile tribes. They rode light, having one pack horse to ten men. The last stage of ♦hirty miles was over a uarched desert.
