THE PARIS CONFERENCE.
MK'. HUGHES ON GERMAN TRADE. 'Paris, June 13. Mr. Hughes, interviewed by Lc Matin, was questioned concerning the prediction of some pessimists that within a decade German trade would be as flourishing as ever. He replied indignantly that those entertaining such a thought were traitors, and added: "Whatever our business transactions with Germany they will be those we desire, not those which Germany imposes. Her pre-war activity consisted not only in sending us products, but especially in greatly disorganising cur national industries and largely seizing control of others. She acted like a vampire, and it behoves us to break down the tyranny for ever." SIXTY ALLIED DELEGATES. ■Received June 14, 9.45 pjn. IParis, June 14. Sixty delegates of the Allied Powers will meet in secret conclave at 10 o'clock this morning at the Foreign Office, under M. Briand's presidency. After the early sitting members will break into committees to draft reports on special questions, vyhich will then be submitted to the whole Conference*
