SIX O'CLOCK CLOSING.

MR. HOLMAN'S BLUNDER. By Cable.—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, June 13. The Telegraph says: "The result of tile poll on six o'clock closing could not more clearly have expressed the public condemnation of the Holman Government's attitude towards the drink question. It is quite evident that Mr. Holman. is unable to understand the attitude of the public towards the question. His attempt to interpret the vote as a demand for Government hotels completes the proof of this. Mi. Holman has announced that the Government intends to initiate the six o'clock closing of hotels without undue abruptness or unnecessary harshness. For a week after the gazet'tal the police will be instructed to use discretion with regard to minor breaches.
