ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DETERMINED SUICIDE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, Yesterday. A young married man. H. A. Monro, of the well-known Bankhoiise family, eommitteed suicide late this afternoon at Burleigh, near Blenheim. Deceased was defendant in a case in which one thousand pounds damages were asked for, for assault, and the case was coming off to-morrow at the Supreme Court. Deceased borrowed a gun, saying that his horse had fallen and had a broken leg, and lie wished to shoot it. A constable searching for deceased found liiin with a portion of his head blown off, and the gun was lying by the body. CRUSHED BY MOTOR-LORRY. Wellington, Yesterday. Victor Scoullar, a taxi-eab driver, while attempting to board a motor-lorry in motion in Taranaki Street last night, slipped, and the lorry passed over his' body, severely crushing his chest. He died before a doctor arrived.
