A PRO-GERMAN ARTICLE.
A 'PAPER'S INJUDICIOUSNESS. A WARNING TO THE PRESS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, June 9. Tn the House this afternoon, replying to Mr. T. W. Rhodes (Thames), who asked the Premier if he. had seen a pro-German article published in the Thames Star on Monday last, Mr. Massey said he had seen the article in question, a number of copies 'having been sent him by apparently indignant Thames residents. He had read the article with a great deal of regret, and he had anticipated the request of the member for Thames and referred the article to the department of the Attor-ney-General, but had not yet received a report. He could, however, assure the House that such steps would be taken as would make editors and proprietors understand that' j>ro-German sentiments and pro-German propaganda would not be tolerated in New Zealand.
