FOR WIDOWS AND ORPHANS OF SAILORS. By Tilegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, June 9. In the House yesterday, the Premier read a letter from Messrs. Sargood, Son, and Ewen intimating that they desired to follow the example of Mr.'Percy McHardy, and donate £IOOO to the fund for the* relief of the widows and orphans of British bluejackets. The gift would be divided into four sums of £250, each centre contributing. A cheque for the Wellington eenire's contribution was enclosed. Mr. Massey said he had no wish to interfere with local efforts in this direction, but the Government would be pleased to receive and acknowledge any contributions to this fund.
