SCOUT RALLY.
Saturday, King's Birthday, was a red letter day for the Tara'naki Scouts, when the Scoutmasters of Eltham, Stratford, and Xew Plymouth organised a general parade. The Mayor, Mr. Burgess, met the scouts, and addressing the lads said he hoped that the fraternal spirit which had prompted the gathering would lead to lifelong friendships, and so be of benefit to Taranaki generally, when as men they would be the leaders and workers of our towns and districts. The visitors were taken to the electric sub-station, where Mr. Black showed them over the works. Pukekura Park was also visited, and they wctc then the guests of the Mayor on the tram to Alotnroa, where the local scouts had provided a lunch. Scout work took up the rest of the. afternoon, and a further supply of ''tucker'' kindly sent by the Mayoress finished up a very pleasant day, the visitors leaving for home by the 4.25 train. The officers desire to thank Mrs. Milne for her kind assistance with the food question.
