INGLEWOOD.

(From Our Own Correspondent) Inglewood, Yesterday. There was a large gathering at the social held in the Parish Hall on Friday evening, the object being to raise funds for the painting of the vicarage. Hiss Tarry played two pianoforte solos, and songs were contributed by Miss Esse (with violin obligato, nicely played by Mrs. Harvie), Messrs. Hynes, C. 0. Roberts, Eov. Harvie and M. Wagstaff, all of whom were well received. Two competitions were held and caused a good deal of'amusement. In the first, a bean competition, each person competing was given nine beans, and if in answer to questions "Yes," or "No" were given a bean bad to be forfeited. Miss Franklyn proved the winner of this event. The second was guessing names of leaves, which were on view round the hall. This was won by Mrs. Marr, Mr. Wagstaff being second. Supper was .served iby the ladies, and after this
