WEDDING BELLS.
DUGGAX—KOOKES. (From a. Correspondent). St. Paul's Church, Okato, was the scone of a very pretty wedding on Tuesday, May Hi, tin- contracting parfic being; .lane, second daughter of Mr. (mil Mrs. J. Duggan. of Warm, and Mr. A. Rookcs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fookcs, of Oaonni. The Key. Addenbroojce performed tlie ceremony. The br:<jo. wlio entered the elmreli on tlie arm of lier father, looked charming in hor bridal gown of white silk embroidered frosted voile and wearing the customary veil and orange blossom*, and carrying a beautiful shower bouquet. Misses Johanah and Mary rjuggan. sisters of the bride, were bridesmaids, the former being daintily attired in a nattier blue voile pinafore dress with cream blouse and black satin hat relieved with blue, and carrying a pretty bouquet. The latter wore a dainty frock of hailstone muslin with a mop cap, and carrying a basket of pink and white flowers. Tlie bridegroom was attended by Mr. T. Fowls, of \Yarea, as best man. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a set of militar-v. brushes, and the bridegroom's present to tlie bride a gold wristlet watch set with pearls and diamonds, and to the bridesmaids a gold ring respectively. After the ceremqny'aftcrnoon tea was partaken of by over fifty guests at "The Fines." the residence of the bride's parents, when the usual toasts were honored. Subsequently, amid showers of rice and the good wishes of all their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Rookes left by motor en route for Wangsnui, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride wore ,» navy tailored costume with hat to match. The wedding presents were numerous and costly.
