CONFERENCE OP EMPLOYERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The New Zealand Furniture Trades Association of Employers 1 Conference opened to-day, Mr. Garlick (Auckland), presiding. The report showed the financial position to be satisfactory. A resolution was adopted expressing loyalty to the King, congratulation on the formation of n National .Government, and determination to do all possible to help to secure such a result of the war as to enable the Empire to dictate terms of an honorable and lasting peace. It was decided that the headquarters of the Association next year should be Auckland. The next annual meeting will.be held at Christehnrch. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. W. J. Cousins (Auckland); vice-president, Mr. E. Collie (Wellington); trustees, Messrs. Parkinson and Clarke (Auckland); lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. H. Cooke (Auckland). The conference resumes to-morrow.
