COLONIAL INDUSTRIES.
To the Editor. Sir, —Now is the time to start industries in New Zealand, lpore especially the manufacture of glass, VVe have any amount of the raw products, besides thousands of tons of broken bottles, painters' waste, etc., to last for some time to come. No doubt our Government would give free passages to three or four good Belgian glass-workers to start the industry in this country. It would not matter where, so long as we got it going. We want industries in this Dominion badly. Is New Zealand ever going to wake up? Then there is the manufacture of papiir. Fancy all our sawdust going to waste at the sawmills! New Zealand should get a move on.—l am, etc,, PROGRESS.
