The Ngahere arrived at Auckland from Greymouth on Friday. She loads on Monday for New Plymouth, Wanganui, and Greymouth. WAGES OF CAPTAINS. The Northern S.S. Company has been approached by the captains of its vensels with the request for a conference with a view to obtaining an increase in wages. Their request will be submitted to the directors. The officers claim that an increase is necessary in order to meet-the extra cost of living.
