SOUTH CANTERBURY BURGLARY.
MEN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. . By Teleg: -.ph.—Press Association. Tiraaru, Last Night. At»the Magistrate's Court at Riirlic, two men named Barker and Ward, with aliases, were committed for trial on three charges of burglary at Fairlio o|i the night of April 20. The evidence showed that they blew open safes at the Farmers' Co-op. Store, and railway station, and stole over £2OO in money, and stole jewellery valued at £BO from a shop. Much of the plunder was recovered from their swags when the men wore arrested near Orari railway station on May 5. Among the money from C.F.C.A. were several £0 notes, of which the numbers had been recorded, and these were recovered.
