THE ANZACS

A RAIDING EXPERIENCE. Times and Sydney Sun Services. London, May 10. Mr. Beach Thomas, writing from British Headquarters, describes the Anzacs' experiences of trench raids. One front line trench was bombarded furiously for HO minutes, a moderate flank bombardment following, and the debris half-filled the trench. The wire entanglements were blown up, and the raiders dashed across the intervening space and picked up the relics of t'he enemy. They were usually in the enemy's trenches minutes!

"Anzacs" will probably be established as a classical historical title, and is adopted in official reports. As soldiers, they have to learn tile duty of keeping out of sight of the sharp-eyed German observers. MEDALS TO BE GIVEN Ti'me9 and Sydney Sun Services. Received May 17, 5.5 p.m. London, May 10.
