Mr. Pearce has announced, in connection with the relief of Sir Ernest Shackleton, that the Comrnonwealth has cabled to the Imperial Government suggesting that the Wcdilcl Sea expedition should start from South Africa and that the Mcintosh relief expedition should be entrusted to a local committee in the Commonwealth or New Zealand, which would use the Aurora for the expedition.
