THE KATOOMBA TRAGEDY.
VERDICT OF SUICIDE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, May 13.. At the inquiry into the Katoomba tragedy, the husband, stated that his wife and daughter had been travelling three years in search of health. Although he had not seen either for a year, they corresponded regularly. A verdict of suicide was returned. [A Sydney cable of April 19 said: Mrs. Hallet and her daughter, aged 18, who belonged tp Victoria, and were visiting Katoomba, were found dead in a rented cottage. Their belongings included three bottles which had contained poison. Instructions were found for the disposal of their personal property. The mother had apparently been dead five days and the daughter three days. There is nothing to explain the tragedy.]
