It claims that the Germans arrive! at 5 o'clock in the morning, and, after bombarding, proceeded to Yarmouth, where they caused many fires. Enemy ships were sighted at 5.46, and the Germans, abandoning the bombardment of the coast, opened fire on the British cruisers. The latter, realising their inferiority, moved southward, but the German shfells pursued them. Many hits were noted and a. serious fire broke out on the cruiser Penelope. Her funnel was smashed, and it is believed that she was, almost entirely burnt. The Germans also sunk a destroyer. The British ships, thanks to greater speed, were soon out of range, but ran into the arms of the German submarines. The Galatea was torpedoed and also an English submarine.

Within fifteen minutes the whole fight was over, and the German ships, not desiring to wait for the approach of stronger enemy divisions, proceeded eastwards. OFF THE NORWAY COAST. Suddenly the Zeppelin was seen to be rapidly descending, and uncontrollable. She was then seen disappearing in a fog a hundred feet above the water. It is believed that she was shot down. A large French flotilla has been observed near the island of Vaage.
