MOA ROAD DISTRICT.
AKNUAL MEETING OF RATEPAYERS The attendance at the annual meeting of ratepayers of the Moa Road District, which was held at Inglewood on Saturday was, as usual, very disappointing. There were present: Messrs H, Trimble (chairman), J. Hueker, A. E. Laurence, 4 1. H. Henwood, and two ratepayers, as well as the secretary.
The chairman commented on the lack of interest taken in the annual meeting by ratepayers. The balance-sheet for the past year*s working of the Board was ready. The work accomplished since, the last annual meeting had been very good. .Mr. J. 'H, Henwood, a member of the Board some years ago and recently reelected, assured the chairman that the .ratepayers took a good deal of interest in the working of the Board. He believed those who had grievances should attend the meetings and let members know personally what the ratepayers required. He did not like "street-corner" growls. He had already been stuck up by about twenty ratepayers on various matters
The chairman stated that the Lepper Road was receiving a great deal of attention. There the ratepayers were paying iy 2 d rate besides their ordinary rate on the road. After a little discussion on minor matters the meeting adjourned.
