THE LABOR COMBINE.

To the Editor. Sir,—l notice with no small amount of dismay that the railway employees are going to join forces with the Waterside Workers' Unions and any other labor combinations that they choose to amalgamate with, for the purpo-e of {living effect to their demands on the State and people. This is a most serious state of affairs, and cal.ls for the immediate attention of the public. Parliament is just about to meet, and that ought to present a good opportunity for prompt action by the authorities. The safety of the State and the welfare of the people require legal protection against the formation or continuation of any and all crushing and squeezing combines of \ny and every sort.—l am. etc..
