This comedy is not new to New Plymouth playgoers} wha hold it in deljghtful remembrance. Onaj does not look for moral purpose in 4 light comedy; its mission is only to pro* vide whbiesoine amusement. It it ft typically American comedy in its speed, its language and its character, and it was vastly appreciated by an enthusi-* astic audience. Much of the enthusiasm wag due to the bright and sparkling epigram with which the text abounds, but the ensuing crispness was at least equally responsible for a well-merited success. The caste was an exceptionally good one. Lionel Walsh and Fred' Crape made excellent comedians and got every ounce out of the characters of the two crooks, Wallingford and Daw. Tha naturalness of their performance was it* most absorbing feature, and both atitora played with a nonchalance that wpg jr« resistible. Miss Hilda 'Dorrington a 4 Fanny Jasper, a stenographer, gavi & striking impersonation of the part. The remainder of the cast was good, fright and consistent throughout, among thou who were prominent 'being Misses Eftel Lissack, Wynifred Caldwell, KOM Towers, and 'Muriel Cathcart; Votlm Geo, Herideison, Geo. .Chalmers, }fcri court Hare, Hubert Lee, Henry W(nt4nb Claude Lyttelton, and H.
