FRENCH AERIAL SUCCESS. - Paris, April 28. A communique says: There liave been Several aerial battles. A Herman aeroplane was brought down in the Fromezey. district, and two others seriously damAged, one near Douaumont and another »,t Montfarcon Wood. A Fokker also fell into the German lines near Chaulncs. A French air squadron dropped eighteen bombs on the Lamarehe railway station. in the Woevre. 1 HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. Wellington, April 29. The High Commisisoner reports under date London, April 2S (12.30 p.m.): •'A French official message says that on the left bank of the Mcusp there is intense artillery activity in the regions o{ Avocourt, Esnes and Cumieres. On the fight bank the enemy threatened two attacks, accompanied by violent bombardments, but they were arrested by onr curtain of fire. The Germans remained in their trenches. In the region of Roye, west of Pont-a-Moussen, our batteries were very active yesterday. An enemy aviator was shot down in front of Fort Vaux. On the night of the 2(ith, Uiree of our dirigibles dropped large calibre shells on the stations at Kttin, Bensdorf, and Arnaville. The same night our aviators dropped 37 shells on the stations in the valley of the Aire, 2/5 on encampments in the valley of the Orne, six shells and two incendiary bombs on Thionville station, and eight shells on Conflans station."
