At a special meeting of the caucus, »Mr. Holman stated that he was not disposed to deviate from the position he took up at tlie Labor Conference on Wednesday night, and placed the resignations of himself and his colleagues in 'the hands of the caucus, and declared that unless the Conference reversed its decision the Government was not pre'pared to go on. During a long debate some members •took up the position that as the caucus had not been elected by the conference •Mr. Holman was wrong in making the Conference's censure on the Upper House a; vote of no-confidence "in the Government, and no notice should be taken of the Conference's action.
Eventually a proposal was submitted that a delegation <be appointed to place the position before the Conference to'iiight.
GOVERNMENT THREAT TO RESIGN. Received April 29, 1.25 a.m. Sydney, April 28. The caucus delegation piaeed the position before the Labor Conference, Mr. Meagher pointing out that if the Conference insisted ivpon the censure motion the resignations of the Ministry would be handed to the Governor, and Mr. Wade would probably be sent for to form a new Ministry. Other delegates intimated that none of the members would take office if the Ministry resigned at tlie instance of industrialists. Discussion was postponed until Monday.
