General Sir Douglas Haig reports: Artillery on both sides is active about Neuville St. Vaast, Angres, Y'prcs, Comines Canal, and at Ilooge. A Paris communique says: The enemy violently bombarded Mort Homme. Our air squadron, on the night of April 2324, bombed the railway stations at Longueyon, St. Nay, Mantillois, and the bivouacs of Mont Faticon. EAST OF THE MEUSE. THE FRENCH ACTIVE, Paris, April 24, A communique states: We progressed by grenade fighting in the enemy commuieation trendies north-westward of the Caurcttes Wood, taking prisoners. Our air squadrons dropped 4S heavybombs on Vyfwcgc station, south of Sulst forest, and many struck. HIGH COMMISSIONERS REPORT. Wellington, April 25. The High Commissioner reports from London, under date April 24, 3.5-1 p.m.: North of the Aisne the German reconnaisance which sought to penetrate our lines on the plateau of Prissy was repulsed with loss. West of the Mouse, during the course of the night, several enemy reconnaisances were dispersed. South-east of Saueourt and north-west of tlie Caurettc wood we progressed with grenades into the cnemv communication trenches, taking thirty prisoners, including one officer. The enemy carried on a rather lively bombardment in the region of Mort Homme, East of the Meuse and in the Woevre the night was relatively calm. At Eparges the, explosion of a German mine caused no damage. In the forest c.,' Apremont our artillery was active and effectively countered the adversary's trench engineers. In the Vosges we destroyed a small German post towards Bon Homme. In Belgium, in the course of tlie 23rd and the following night, our squadrons twice bombarded the station of Vyfwege east of the forest of Houthulst. Fortyeight heavy bombs were successfully dropped on the station and buildings. All ihe aeroplanes returned unliarmed.
