A meeting of the Auckland Waterside Workers' Union, fit which GOO were present, carried a resolution of .want of confidence in the president fMr. Wood) and removed him from office. There were live dissenting votes. The election of a new president has been deferred. Mr. Wood has been president for nearly two years. He occupied the position of walking delegate, which was I abolished just before the recent acceptance by the union of the open-door policy in admitting members. It is'stated that the step taken is not due to any opposition to arbitration.
