EASTER HOLIDAYS.
ATTRACTIONS IN TARANAKI, Good Friday ushered in the' Easier holidays yesterday, and beautiful weather greeted the large num'ber of visitors to New Plymouth. The opening of the full tram service from Fitzroy to the Breakwater proved a great convenience to the numerous people who spent the afternoon at the seaside. There are many attractions for holiday-makers in Taranaki. Mount Kgmont always offers a pleasant resort at Easter, and there iire many visitors there. The Taranaki golf championship tournament will open at Waiwakaiho this morning, and will continue on Monday and Tuesday morning. On Monday the Waimate "trots" will attract the sporting community to Hawcra, while those who desire to spend the day at the seaside will find ainplc inducement in the carnivals to he held at Kawaroa IPark and at East End. Stratford is also-providing a strong attraction with "Soldiers' Day" on Easter Monday. A half-holiday will be observed throughout Taranaki'on Tuesday to commemorate the landing of the "Anzacs" on fiallipoli Peninsula. Memorial services will be held in the afternoon, and patriotic functions will take place in the evening.
