"WITHIN THE LAW" CO.

This popular company will appear again at the Theatre Royal on May 2 and H, presenting the latest thrilling war play "The Man Who Stayed at Home" by special arrangement with •I. C. Williamson, Ltd. The main motive of "The Man Who Stayed at Home," is to throw into relief the characteristic British attitude of accepting all aliens personally known as good enough people generally who are not to blame for not being born British, and that therefore it is "mean" to suspect that they can be enemies in the most dangerous form of unsuspected spies. The play is ingeniously constructed from tho view point of dramatic situations, developments, and circumstances. It grips the audience closely and never relaxes that grip until the effective climax is reached. Miss Hilda Dorrington and Mr. Lionel Walsh are again appearing with the company in the leading roles, and are responsible for the parts of the lady and gentleman British secret service agents, -Miss Dorrington appearing as Miriam Lee, and Mr. Walsh as Christopher Brent, "the man who stayed at home." Some special scenery and effects arc travelled for this play,, including a complete practical mantlepiece and fireplace, which contains the valuable wireless outfit, which cost the firm considerably over £IOO and without which the play would be impossible as the whole plot centres round the ,ise of this plant, which was concealed by tho German spies in the fireplace, and from where they could signal waiting German submarines.

The company are appearing for two nights only, and 011 Wednesday night, "Get-Rich-Quiek Wallingford" will be staged for the farewell performance. This comedy which has appeared in nook form is widely known, and is one'of the funniest over written, a comedy for the intelligent mind, clean and wholesome, and not depending for its laughs on coarseness and suggestivencss, » brilliant and successful play by George Cohan.

The box plans will be open at Colliers' at 10 o'clock on Thursday, April 27, and seats are obtainable without extra charge.
