HOUSEHOLDERS' MEETINGS.
SEW SCHOO- COMMITTEES. The following school committees were • 'oc-ted at the householders' meetings on Monday night:— I'ran'kley.—Messrs A. Lister (chairman), E. M. Corney (secretary), Baker, Hooker, Ferguson •jnd Whitton. Omata.—So meeting. Lepperton Messrs W. Eoherts (chairman), F. Hopkins, F. Copestake, Diggins and Munro. Norfolk.—Messrs W. Corney (chairman, T. Corney. J. Laurenson, A. Johnston and Kilpatriek. Kaimata Messrs Ci. Mackie (chairman), W. A. Enrrell, E. Death, J. Klenner and A. Klenner. Ratapiko.—Messrs J. Hooper (chairman), S. L. Egarr (secretary), J. \Viley, J. Corbett and W. Williams. SOUTH TARAXAKI. Eltham.-—Tlie following were elected to the Committee: Messrs W. T. Bailev, L. F. Creswell, A. A. Stewart, T. King, A. Andrews, W. C. Clement, W. Clarry, S. Brooker. and Ira J. Bridget-. Mr. A. A. Stewart was elected chairman, Mr. T. King secretary, and Mr. H. Andrews treasurer. Mr. Liglitbonrne was reappointed director of the technical school.
'Hawerfi.—As only nine people were present the meeting was adjourned for a fortnight. Matapu.—The following were elected at the meeting of householders on Monday night: Messrs W. H. Gilling, W. Jobson, A. Luxton, W. McL'Dowie, and G. Preece. The last-named was elected chairman of the committee. Otakeho. —The election of the new School Committee resulted in Messrs Eaves (chairman), Maskie, Jones, Putt, and Davison being elected. Patea.—The old' Committee were reelected, namely, Rev. L. S. Barnett, Messrs J. H. Johnson, G. Hemingway, G. H. Stephenson, C. J. Powell, E. Beardmore, and H. D. Armour. Tokaora.—Xo committee was appointed. Marco.—The committee for the ensuing year is: Messrs YV. Gill (chairman), Pi. Hill (secretary and treasurer), A. YV. Hodder, Thomas Trask, and S. P.oscwarne, KGLEYVOOD The annual meeting of householders was held on Monday evening. As usual, there was a very small attendance. Mr Messenger was voted to the chair. The report and statement of accounts was duly presented and showed a most satisfactory state of affairs. By a special effort on the part of the ladies the school funds were augmented to the extent of something like £25, £fi of which was voted to the prize fund and the 'balance of the amount is to be spent or. ground improvements, the work already having been let. The balancesheet showed a credit of £lB ]'4s 3d, to which has to be added £1!) 4s Id, which is in the hands of the Education Board. The following, committee was elected:—Messrs. Messenger (chairman),) J. Sutherland (secretary), T. Hamerton, A. Kennedy, C. Seabright, Ralston, Surrey, Caldwell and I). Allen. Cm the motion of Mr. Caldwell it was decided that: "This meeting of householders place on record their appreciation of the excellent work done by Mr. Stratford during his term as headmaster of the school, and admires his conduct in offering his services to his country at this trying time." At a meeting of the new committee held subsequently, Mr. Messenger was elected chairman and Mr. J. Sutherland secretary for the ensuing year.
