SUPREME COURT. By Cable. —Press Association —Copyrig', t Auckland, April In. '' In the Supreme Court, Alfred Marshall, who was recently convicted in tin? Magistrate's Court for abduction of a school girl, was sentenced to five years' imprisonment for theft and declared an habitual criminal. Leonard William Henderson, aged 2-1, employed at Hamilton Post Office, on two charges of theft from postal packet?, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labor on each charge, sentences to he concurrent. Charles Henry Roxborough, for breaking and entering and theft at Hamilton, also escaping from custody, was sentenced to two years' treatment. LABORERS' AWARI>. Wellington, April lii. Following on the recent pronouncement by the Arbitration Court, the award in the general laborers' dispute in the Wanganui, Napier and Hastings district, filed to-day, contains the following clause under the heading of wage?: "So long as the British Empire remains in a state of war with Germany and Austria, or either of them, and for three months after the cessation of such A-ar, there shall be paid to all workers within the scope of the award, ir. addition to the rates above-mentioned, a war bonus of 10 per cent, upon such rates." Another clause reads; "Sotwithstanding the foregoing clause the said war bonus may at any time during the currency of' the award be continued either wholly or partially 01 may be increased or terminated as the court, on the application of any party to the award or of its own motion, determine." Provision is made for the exemption of tunnel men and timber men, for whom the special rate of Is Cd per hour jj fixed.
