Mr. G. W. Hean, a highly esteemed Wangamii citizen, who has been dangerously ill, has passed the crisis, and is now a little better. Mr. Hean has been suffering from a severe attack of pneumonia. Archdeacon Evans, writing to a friend in Now Plymouth, says that he has to rejoin the Maheno' at Dunedin on Thursday next, and consequently, he will not be able to pay the short visit will not be able to pay the short visit to this town that lie hoped for. In the recent list of promotions issued by the Poet and Telegraph Department appear the name 3 of two Taranaki boys (both born in New Plymouth). Mr. Theodore King, who has been promoted to chief postmaster at Dunedin, is 11 brother of the late Mr. Wbiteley King; and Mr. Douglas St. George, promoted to chief postmaster at Liver* cargill, is a brother of Mr.s, T, G. Haniimonfl, of H»tt'er*
