STRATFORD NEWS.
(From Our Own Component.) Stratford, Yesterday. The.Hon. J. Allen, Minister of 'Defence, has written to Mr. C. O. S»le, thanking the Stratford settlers f or their gifts of fresh vegetables oi the boys in camp, and stating that all such gifts, which are very acceptable to the men, are carried free on the railways. The Soldiers' Day Committee are making things hum, and Stratford will be en fere on Easter Monday, for this is Taranaki's day for the boys. The Education Board are proceeding with the erection of the school building at Tahora. This is not only a source of pleasure to the settlers, but it reHeels great credit on the Board for their prompt dealing with what promised to be .1 difficult matter. Mr. R. Masters interviewed a deputation of settlers regarding a new school at T.owgarth and came to very satisfactory arrangements with them. The Government and Board must do the rest.
