A CROCODILE'S ANXIETY. •FOR DUTCH WELFARE, PREPARATIONS AGAINST ATTACK. {Times and Sydney Sun Services. r _ Amsterdam, April 10. In the Reichstag Budget debate Herr Payer (Progressive) §aid that the Chancellor's speech showed that no Power in the world was able to take Germany's military gains, nevertheless neutrals were in an uncomfortable position, Holland .particularly, where the pressure liad reached a point that had obliged her to protect her coasts against the Allies. Germans felt keenly that she was suffering for Germany's sake, because the Allied attitude against her was aimed at Germany. Despite official Dutch denials, the Austro-German press is discussing at length Holland's preparations against threatened Allied attacks. The Neue Freie Presse flatters the Dutch Premier for his diplomatic silence, enabling the British Government to retreat from its intended assault on Dutch independence, and adding: "The Paris Conference was desperate, because a military situation was devised and planned for disturbing Holland. The Dutch Premier answered by strengthening Holland's military preparation."
