TRAITOROUS STATEMENTS. Sydney, April 11. Louis Klauson, a member of the 1.W.W., was fined £IOO for making statements in the Domain likely to prejudice recruiting. He declared that the men who fought at Gallipoli were mugs, and ought to have been in an asylum. CONSCRIPTION OF WEALTH. Melbourne, April 11. Speaking at Bendigo, Mr. Jensen said that if conscription was introduced the power of the middle-classes would suffer. If they gave their life-blood the rich should give their money—they would have to if the war lasted much longer. A JAPANESE STATEMENT. Sydney, April 11. Speaking at the conferenec of Local Government engineers, Mr. Shimiza stated that Japan would take immediate steps to protect the interests of her allies in China.
