PRISONERS BEFORE THE COURT.' . , By Cable.—rress Assuoiation—Copyright Rolovua, April 8. The Maori prisoners,' except Rut, appeared before the Magistrate this morning on charges of assaulting and obstructing the police. They were remanded, on the application of Sergeant Curamings, till the 17th. They will be sent to Auckland on Monday, and return here for the hearing. An inquest on the Maoiis killed has opened. Dr. Brewster's evidence was taken, and the inquest adjourned till the 19th. Rua was not brought up, as he lias been sentenced to prison and goes to gaol on the original warrant. A com> mitment charge against him vMI be foi mulated later.
