GERMANY.
IN THE REICHSTAG. CHARACTERISTIC HUN LIES. Amsterdam, April 7. In the Reichstag, Count Westarp (Conservative), said that Germany's chief task was to force Britain to renounce her destructive plans. They did not want Germany's military and political backbone broken. He condemned America for supplying ammunition to* the Allies. Germany was firmly resolved to disregard America's unjustifiable demands. Herr Haase said that the injustice done to Belgium must be compensated by the. restoration of her independence. (Uproar). In 1913, Herr von Jagow declared that Germany would uphold Belgian neutrality. Herr von Jagow, replying, said that when he made this declaration he considered Belgium neutral. It had since been thoroughly proved that the guilt for what had happened lies with Belgium. If a French deputy had said a quarter of what Herr Haase had said his colleagues would have stoned him. The Kaiser congratulated Herr von Bethmann Hollweg on his forceful speech. JUBILEED! "HISTORICAL HINDENBURG." "BILL" SENDS HIM AN OIL PAINTING. Received April 9, 5.5 pim. Amsterdam, April 8. Tie Kaiser sent him a portrait, in oils, and a. telegram describing General Hindenburg's deeds on the field as historical. He further said: "I am in agreement with the army and the entire Fatherland when I assure you that our gratitude and recognition for all you thaw never die.'!. "
