WAITARA.

(From Our Own Correspondent). At its usual weekly meeting, held on Monday evening, the North taranaki 'Patriotic League acknowledged receipt of a letter from Mr. A. M. Bower, of Okau, enclosing a cheque for £0 fls Gd, being amount collected at the- Okau school picnic towards the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. The public school has been closed for | fumigating purposes, and it is expected that it will be re-opened on Monday. The latest enlistments with Mr. J. Kempsell (lion, recruiting officer) are; C. Vaughan and J. Griffley (Waitara) and J. Tarrall (Ngatimiro).
