LATEST ZEPPELIN RAIDS. VERY SHORT VISITS, London, "April 6. There was a very clear sky last night and searchlights soon located the Zeppelin. Heavy gunfire was opened immediately, apparently with good aim. The Zeppelin vainly endeavored to elude the searchlights, and departed eastward. Tho visit lasted only ten minutes. A few bombs fell on the outskirts of the town, OFFICIAL REPORT. ' 48 BOMBS DROPPED. ONE cIIILD KILLED. Wellington, April 7. The High Commissioner reports under date London, April G, 7.35 p.m.:— The air raid on Wednesday night on the north-eastern counties was apparently carried out. by three Zeppelins. Tlie first made au attack about 9.10 p.m. and was driven off by anti-aircraft guns after dropping five bombs, which caused no damage or casualties. Numerous observers state that this Zeppelin was struck by gunfire. The second raider made its appearance in another locality at 10.15 p.m. No bombs were dropped. _ Another raider delivered an attack on a' third locality. Several bombs were dropped, but only slight material damage was caused. The total number of bombs was 24 explosive and 24 incendiary. The casualties reported were: Killed, one child; injured, two men, one woman, and Ave children. No military damage was caused. A GERMAN CLAIM. deceived April 7, 8.40 p.m. London, April (S. A German account of the raid of April 3 claims that the airships bombed fortifications near Great Yarmouth, and that the ships' returned safely. GOOD LUCK FOR PARTS. Times and Sydney Sun Services. A Paris telegram says that a suggestion has been made that the Zeppelins which raided Britain were specially inflated to raid Paris during the Allies' conference, but being prevented from crossing the French lines they were then diverted to Britain.
