Mr. Bambury moved an amendment to abolish payment of members, but there was much opposition to this on the ground of introducing a State political subject at such a time, several characterising it as a breach of the political truce. London, April 6. t fMr. Asquith, in reply to a question, said he was unable to give a day to enable the House to express an opinion which would guide the Government's representatives at the Paris Conference. The Times correspondent says that, In deference to the British Goverement's presumed attitude 1 , the French waived .a discussion on tariff questions, though convinced that tariffs must be discussed sooner or later. The agenda for the conference now includes the improvement of the blockade, defensive measures 'against German dumping schemes, mutual aid regarding raw materials, tonnage, plant and finance.
