SCOTT MEMORIAL PRIZES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Oamaru, Last Night. The presentation of prizes in connection with the Oamaru Scott Antarctic Memorial Committee was held to-day. There was a. splendid gathering, a f en " ture of the proceedings being the address by Hon. J. A. Hanun, Minister of Education, and Commander Stenhousc, of the Antarctic ship Aurora. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. A fatal motor car accident occurred near Papakaio, 15 miles from Oamaru, to-night. George Gardiner, the wellknown auctioneer for Wright, Stephenson and Co., of Oamaru, was killed by a collision with a dray. Deceased was 30 years of age, and belonged to Gore. He had enlisted for the 16th Reinforcements.
