FOOTBALL.
OKAIAWA CLUB. The animal meeting of the Okaiawa Football Club, called for Saturday evening, lapsed for want of a quorum, only the president, secretary and two others putting in an appearance. It was not expected that there would be any senior football during the coming season, but it was hoped that the young players would keep the game going. KAPONSA CLUB. The annual meeting of this club was to have been -held on Saturday evening, but owing to the small attendance it was decided to adjourn till after the Union meeting. In the meantime it was decided to appoint Messrs li. Fearon and E Mills as the club's delegatus to the Rugby Union's annual meeting, and to give theui a free hand in the matter of the football to be played during the coming season. The club's playing list from last year is woefully depleted already, and more are going into camp every month. As far as is known, only one of the club's members, the late Private Howard Newton, has fallen in the war, but several have been invalided home.
