FLOODS IN THE STRYPA REGION. OPERATIONS IN ASIA. Received 'April 2, 6,5 p.m. Petrograd, April 1. 'A communique says: We repulsed an enemy attack near Mokritza and annihilated a detachment west of Chartorysk. We repulsed large forces that were attempting to reach our trenches in the upper and middle Strypa. Floods are restricting operations on both sides. After four hours' fight in the region of the fortress of Karahalackan, in the direction of Bagdad, we defeated the enemy, inflicting heavy losses. The enemy fled in a southerly direction.
