PRICES OF PRODUCE.
WELLINGTON AND LONDON, A statement has been prepared by the Government Statistician showing the difference in the prices of certain commodities in Wellington and in London for the months of May, June and July of last year. July figures are as follows for the articles named:—> Wellington. The Wellington butter quotation is the highest for the three months. In making comparisons for the respective costs of living, the higher condition of living in New Zealand must be allowed for. Cheaper rents, clotheß and other necessities tend to make the living of the working man less by—it is computed—about 25 per cent, in London than in New Zealand.
