To the Editor. ! Sir,—Can you inform ratepayers who-1 ther our town clerk is getting his full I pay from the New Plymouth borough j while he is playing at soldiers? What ' we want to know is, first, what lie is ! .getting from our borough? Second,; what is he getting from the Govehiment?t Will you he so kind as to answer these ■ two questions?—l am, etc., RATEPAYER, [We have shpwn the above to the Mayor, who says that the town clerk is not receiving hi 3 full pay from the Borough Council. Colonel BeUringcr is not "playing nt soldiers.'' He is filling his present at the request of the military authorities. His Government pay i;. lr>3 a day.—Ed.] •
