WORK OF THE SEA PIRATES. POUR VESSELS SUNK. London, March 23. The steamer Soa Serpent and the French barque Bougainville have been Slink. Twenty-three of the crew of the latter were picked, up. The Norwegian steamer Kannik lias been sunk. The crew were saved. The Norwegian vessel Linftcld has been sunk. WATCHING THEM DROWN. I CALLOUS GERMANS. Paris, March 23. When the destroyer Rcnaudin' was torpedoed the officers and crew of the submarine impassively watched the drowning sailors. On a French destroyer hastening to the rescue the submarine disappeared. RUSSIAN BATTLESHIPS. . RETURNED BY JAPAN.

Japanese files state that two Japanese battleships and two coast defence ships tave been transferred to Russia and will shortly appear in the North Sea, All were formerly units of Russia's Baltic fleet and were captured by the Japanese in the RuBSo-Japanese war, <n ENEMY SUBMARINES, I; 12Q CAPTURED BY BRITAIN; Received March 24,11.50 p.m. Washington, March ii. Information transmitted to the officials of the coastguard service discloses that 120 German submarines have been captured by the British Admiralty since the outbreak of the war.
