TARANAKI ARCHITECTS.
A GENERAL MEETING. A meeting of architects, members of the New Zealand Institute and resident in the provincial district of Ta'ranaki, was held in the Patriotic Committee Rooms, nt Stratford, yesterday. Mr. J. D. Healy, A.X.Z.T.A.,'was voted to the chair and welcomed the members to Stratford. There were also present: Messrs. Gibson. Lie. R.T.8.A.. .f. A. Buffi]!, A.N.Z.1.A., .T. T. Mannix A.N.Z.T.A., and A. R. Allen, A.X.Z.I.A. (New Plymouth) An apologv was received from Mr. IT. L. Hogg, A.N.Z.I.A. Mr. Victor Griffiths was elected secretary. The object of the meeting was to foster fellowship among the members, and to discuss matters of importance to the profession. Several important questions, calling for united effort by all members, were dealt with, including the importance of impressing upon the local bodies the advisability of confining all architectural work to members of the institute in practice in the Taranaki District, preferly by local competition!. A further meeting will be held at an curly date at Hawera, by invitation of the Hawera members. The members were hospitality entertained by Mr. J. D. Healy, of Stratford.
