RAHOTU./ (From Our Own Correspondent). A farewell was tendered to Troop!)' William Gibson, eldest son of Air. George Gibson, of Manihi road, on Thursday evening, the function taking the (firm of a concert. T. p. J-Joghspn presided. Soilgs Fere given by Messrs. Manning, Ulingsworth, Evans and T. P. Hughson, junr. Several items were also given by the school phlMren and caused much amusement, MUs Looney and .Master Looney recited and were encored. Miss Heron presented Trooper Gibson with a wallet and fountain pen, and wished hiin God-speed and a safe return. Trooper Gibson suitably responded. Appropriate speeches were made .by Messrs Wright, Candish and the chairman. The National Anthem was sung and supper handed round. The factory paid out for February milk £2OOO, at the rate of Is 3(j ner lb fli butter-fat, It has beitn decided to pay Is 3d per lb for butter-fat for March also. Airs. Dawson, junr., is expected home after a serious operation in the hospital. Mrs. H. Kitchenman, senr., of Kahui road, was taken ill and had to be taken to New Plymouth for treatment week. hope §ppn to that she is WttM,
