SATISFACTORY BALANCE-SHEET, ~ SOCIETY NOW IN CREDIT, "" At a meeting of the general committee, of the Taranaki Agricultural Society on Saturday the secretary presented an approximate balance-sheet in connection with the recent stock show as follows:

Receipts.—By gates £122 lis 2d, space £5 ss, entries £159 2s (id, sale of catalogues £7, guessing competition £27, sale gift calves- £SO, gift lamb 17s, fodder IDs 3d, booth £2O, two-thirds donations £3OO, making a total of £095 Jos lid. Experiditure.—Prizc money £307 ss, gold medals £lB Jos, labor *£l7 17s sd, gatekeepers £l9 19s (id, advertising, printing ,etc, £ll4 7s 9d, cartage xs 7s 6d, judges' expenses £7 las, orchestra £5 ss, catering £27 19s Bd, tent hire £4 las, ribbons £8 12s, goods £2l 2s lOd, postage £C 10s, credit, balance £74 4s sd.—Total, £G9S 15s lid.

An approximate statement showing the general position of the Society disclosed that whilst there was a debit balance of £6OO at the commencement of the year .this had been wiped off and the Sooiety was now in credit to tnc extent of about £2OO.

Messrs BroWn and Hill were appointed a sub-committee to go into the question of annexes at the Coronation Hall.

Messrs. H.'King, Colson, Tate, Longstaff, 11. C. Sampson, S. Topliss and Andrews were appointed a Schedule Committee, re Winter Show.

Mesdames J. H. Street. F. Andrews, H. Moverley, T. Smellie and J. 11. Frethey were elected a Home Industries Committee. Messrs A. Gray and W. F. Sandford wert appointed to take charge of the Technical School classes. Mr. Geo. White will be asked to make arrangements for the supervision of the fancy work division. Messrs Scott and Lister were elected to supervise the poultry section.
